Chance the Rapper Addresses Donald Trump’s Chicago Comments

A few weeks ago President Donald Trump tweeted “If Chicago doesn't fix the horrible "carnage" going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds,” and that rash statement garnered mix reviews. Chicago is an amazing city filled with people with limitless potential, beautiful art and music, and some of the best food that you can eat but there is another problem happening in its inner cities with shootings, drive-bys and ultraviolence that seems to climb higher and higher each day. Most people are in agreement that SOMETHING needs to be done and a few people actually agree maybe they should indeed send the feds in. On the other hand, people feel that the feds will actually make things worse. Recently, Chance the Rapper gave his thought on that statement when he sat down for an interview with ESPN the Magazine's Entertainment Issue. The No Problems rapper stated that it sounded like Trump was going to go to war with the city and hopes that the president actually meant that he is going to help out with the teachers' strike and the union issues from a federal level. The rapper, who is also a Chicago native and whose father, Ken Bennett, serves as deputy chief of staff to the city mayor Rahm Emanuel, went on to say that he’s sick of people discussing Chicago like it’s a third world country and not "a place of booming business with a very successful downtown and all types of new development." You tell them Chance! Chance the Rapper is fresh of the heels of three recent Grammy wins that he received this past Sunday at the most prestigious awards show in music. The 23-year-old independent rapper absolutely cleaned house with awards for best new artist, rap album, and rap performance. In his speech he thanked God, his family, and gave a shout out to all the independent artists in the music business. The Coloring Book rapper also took us all the way to church with Kirk Franklin and Tamela Mann in his room lifting performance of How Great featuring a medley of other songs. After his career changing wins, Chance shared via Instagram a congratulatory text he received from Drake. Chance had an amazing year last year and is working on a few new projects, including a movie, and definitely deserves all the recognition he’s getting because he is truly one of the underdogs everyone loves to root for.

Future Announces New Album

Future has recently announced that he is dropping a self-titled album on Friday, 2/17. In addition to the new album, Future surprisingly paired with the band Maroon 5 to drop a new single called “Cold”. The music video from the single dropped today and the visuals include front man Adam Levine and his wife Behati Prinsloo taking and acid trip while Future turns into a Teddy Bear. The rapper will also be on a tour with Migos, Tory Lanez and Kodak Black. Future had a few things to get off his chest yesterday when he shared a photo to Instagram captioned “With all due respect, Im asking you to be loving, patient, and kind enough to understand my creativity is to heal wounds, not make new ones. However, the greater the risk, the greater the reward. Especially when you have great intentions for every individual that has played a major role in your life experiences. Now bare with me through my trials and tribulations, my wrong's and my rights. Find time to forgive me for any hurt or heartbreak I may have caused loving selfishly! I'm not perfect, no man walking this earth is. I'm at a place in life where I wanna make my weaknesses my strengths to become a better person than I was yesterday. -Future

McGregor Vs. Mayweather?

There have been rumors swirling around that Floyd Mayweather is heading out of retirement. There have been even more rumors swirling that that fight will be with Conor McGregor. Well on Tuesday Floyd released a statement via Instagram saying “Although there has been several rumors circulating thru media suggesting that I will have an upcoming fight, I'd like to set that record straight and state that there has been no deals made on my behalf in regards to a bout with any fighter at this time. I am happily retired and enjoying my life! Rest assured that if any changes come about, I will be the first to let the world know!” However, after a few exchanges it seems like a fight really will be happening between to the two because the following day Mayweather challenged Mcgregor to get his affairs in order then have his people contact Floyd’s people to discuss a fight. Let’s hope Mcgregor does just that! Would you like to see a fight between the two?

Federal Judges Refuse to Reinstate Trump's Immigration Ban

Since Donald Trump was sworn into office on January 20, he has been trying to make good on many campaign promises that some voters thought he was just bluffing on. One of the many promises he made was to secure the country from terrorist attacks by instating an executive order that halts the U.S. refugee resettlement program for four months, bans Syrians from taking refuge in the United States and temporarily blocks people from a handful of countries (Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Iran) from entering the U.S. in general. The order ironically was put in place on Holocaust Remembrance Day, January 27. The ban sparked national outrage and people and celebrities alike quickly took to the streets in protests and strikes to show the president that we will not be silent on such a discriminatory and pressing matter. Now it looks like the courts have sided with the people because on February 3 judge James Robart put a temporary nationwide restraining order on the travel ban. In response Trump announced that he will be appealing the halt on his executive order and on January 9 his request was unanimously rejected by a federal appeals court panel. Of course Donald Trump used his twitter fingers to address the situation by tweeting “SEE YOU IN COURT, THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE,” prompting us to believe Trump’s administration will ask the Supreme Court to intervene. The Supreme Court is currently shorthanded with only eight justices in chair, this means that if there is a split decision the ruling of the lower court will be upheld. Although there are some exceptions that can be made in the travel ban, on a case by case basis, the order has sparked mass confusion on who it affects. In addition to protests and strikes companies have made pledges to hire refugees already in the country and donate to refugee relief funds. Many lawyers are also doing pro bono work for individuals and families affected, bringing the country closer and closer together. What is your opinion on Trump’s travel ban? Drake is not the most political artist out there but he took some time at his London concert to reveal how he felt about some of the things going on in America right now and without naming anyone it’s safe to say he was speaking on Donald Trump. The Toronto native took a look at his diverse crowd and said “Every day I wake up and see all this bullsh** going in the world. People trying to tear us apart, people trying to make us turn against each other. So tonight, my proudest moment isn’t selling tickets or having people sing my songs. My proudest moment — if you take a look around at this room, you'll see people from all races and all places.” The rapper went on to say “And I just want you to understand that if you thought for one second that any one man is going to tear this world apart, you’re out of your motherf**king mind,” he said. “It’s on us to keep this sh** together. Larsa and Scottie Pippen Reconcile After Filing for Divorce Last Year

Scottie Pippen filed for divorce from his wife Larsa Pippen late last year but it seems as though that divorce is being put on hold. The couple, that has been married for nearly 20 years, were spotted having a night out on the town and now new reports are claiming that the two are trying to work things out. In a recent Snapchat Larsa was seen sporting a huge diamond ring that she claimed was an early Valentine’s Day present. Although she would not give the details on who the expensive gift was from, it is a safe bet to assume it’s from her husband Scottie because they were recently spotted together with friends LL Cool J, Kourtney Kardashian and Richard Weitz at the popular West Hollywood restaurant The Nice Guys. Scottie even documented the night on Instagram! The paparazzi that was on the couples’ case that night because when he was recording a video he decided to ask the basketball legend where Future was. Now if you aren’t up to date according to a few different sources the Real Housewives of Miami star was accused of having extramarital affairs with the March Madness rapper. The two met at a cover party that Future was having in Miami and sources claim that they hit it off last summer. The couple reportedly broke up when Scottie found out that Future was flying her out in his private jets and when he got that news he couldn’t handle it. Seeing that Larsa is friends with Kourtney Kardashian, who is the future sister-in-law of Blac Chyna (who briefly dated Future and was featured in one of his music videos), the reports could be untrue. Another friend of Larsa claimed that the two were just friends and that Larsa is focusing on other things. However, Larsa was spotted in the same place as Future a couple of times so we’ll leave it up to you to choose sides. There are also incidents in which the police were called to the couple’s home over a domestic dispute. Apparently the two got in some heated arguments but there were no reports of physical violence. The couple has been married for nearly 20 years and that is a lot to throw away so no wonder they are at least trying to be friendly again. In addition to a long marriage, Scottie and Larsa share four kids together and that may be the glue that keeps them together.

The Internet is Losing it Over Obama Vacation

By the looks of it, President Barack Obama is never coming back to America! Since Barack and Michelle left the inauguration on January 20, they have been having the time of their lives while the country is in complete turmoil. We guess the Obamas are officially team #notmyproblem. Since vanishing from Washington to go on vacation, the couple have been spotted a few different places. We should have predicted it would be a while before the former Mr. and Mrs. of the United States would be back since Barack switched from the POTUS Twitter account back to his Twitter handle @Barackobama and tweeted “Hi everybody! Back to the original handle. Is this thing still on? Michelle and I are off on a quick vacation, then we’ll get back to work.” It is now two weeks later and Obama’s latest adventure was kitesurfing in the Virgin Islands with his billionaire friend Richard Branson and he’s seen having so much fun that a quick vacation seems to have turned into an extended one! According to Branson, when the former president was in office he wasn’t able to do any extreme watersports (for safety reasons) so he decided to spend his newly found truly free time taking advantage of the beautiful beaches there. Together the friends kite surfed and foil boarded head to head in a friendly contest. During the visit pictures were released of married couple looking super laid back as Obama sported a BACKWARDS hat and Michelle cooling it in a fedora. Before that the couple also vacationed in Palm Springs, California. Word is that the couple stayed in a multi-million-dollar villa, caught some sun by the pool and most likely sipped on some margaritas. Although we sure are glad the Obamas are enjoying their well-deserved time off, we can’t help but be jealous and wait for them to come back! Many people on social media feel the same way because there has been posts about the trending #Obamavacation such as: “Obama really in the BVI in flip flops just chillin” “Just saw Obama in flip flops and a backwards hat… just strolling (on IG). I think i might genuinely love those people.” “Obama's on vacation with the hat backwards. He's never coming back.” In all seriousness hopefully Barack Obama is enjoying his time away after serving the country for eight years. When the couple returns they are rumored to be settling into a $5.3m home in Washington DC until their youngest daughter Sasha Obama graduates.

Drake is currently on his Boy Meets World tour in Europe. The Controlla singer wanted to give his fans a special treat on February 2nd by bringing Travis Scott on stage to perform his banger Antidote when Travis apparently got too hype and fell into a hole. Literally fell into a hole mid-performance, got up, and proceeded to finish the song with Drake and Young Thug. Since then the moment has created some hilarious tweets like “Travis jumped in the hole like Super Mario and I can't stop thinking about it” and “I hate people who spend the entirety of concerts filming on their phones, but it did give us the clip of Travis Scott falling through a hole.” You have to love Travis Scott.

Young Money Reunites and Nicki Minaj's Home gets Burglarized

The Young Money crew has reunited and the internet is losing its mind. Nicki Minaj, Drake and Lil Wayne posted a photo together with a caption that read “The Big Three” and it got us ready for some new heat. Hopefully they were in the studio when this photo was taken and working on music to save 2017 from Donald Trump. Nicki Minaj recently announced that she was single after a two-year relationship with Meek Mill. Neither of the two gave reason as to why Omeeka ended but Meek Mill is definitely bitter about it. Shortly after the break up announcement, Meek Mill took shots at Nicki by dissing her style in past music videos. Everyone has heard about the Drake and Meek feud that lead to the Grammy nominated diss track “Back to Back” and to Nicki and Drake losing their friendship. Meek thought he was being funny by being seen listening to Drake but the joke was on him when his ex posed for a photo with her former love interest and posted it to the gram. Drake isn’t the only former love interest that is shooting his shot with Ms. Minaj. Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood star and Nicki’s ex-boyfriend of 10+ years Safaree is reportedly open minded to getting back with the top selling female rapper. Safaree, who is rumored to be credited with writing many of her hits, claims that he would be open to reunite just for work purposes. However, with a beauty like Nicki it would be easy to fall back in love and try to pick up where they left off. The Starships singer is already supposed to be working on a new album coming this year and currently has a new song with Major Lazer and PartyNextDoor. Although it seems like Nicki is getting back to her old self, it was recently reported that her Los Angeles home was burglarized. Luckily the rapper wasn’t home when robbers busted in and stole over $200K worth of her possessions. People are speculating that the bandits must know the 35-year-old because not only did they trash they house but they cut up her clothes while they were at it. There is no word on if suspects were apprehended yet but of course the internet is pointing all their suspicions at Meek Mill. Hopefully the artist won’t let this get her down and get revenge by continuing to be one of the baddest rappers in the game.

The queen of everything, Mrs. Beyoncé Knowles Carter, has somehow managed to outdo herself for the best pregnancy announcement ever when she announced via social media February 1st that she was pregnant. The first lady of R&B better prepare for trouble and make it double because she is expecting twins! The Lemonade singer posted a stunning photo of her and her baby bump early Wednesday morning and by the end of the day, the photo became the most liked post on Instagram. The record for most liked photo on Instagram was previously held by The Weeknd’s new girlfriend Selena Gomez. With 6 million likes (climbing higher and higher at this very moment), Beyoncé has clearly surprised all of her fans with the new baby news. Queen Bey followed up the single photo on February 2nd by releasing a bundle of maternity photos that included her and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy. Comments, reposts, and memes have hit the internet and they do not disappoint. Many fans delighted in the news and even suggested baby names for the twins like “Houston and Brooklyn”. Celebrities like Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Lawson, offered their congratulations and continued to say that Blue Ivy will be a great big sister. The news left the question if the queen is still planning to perform up in the air. No one knows how far along in pregnancy Mrs. Carter is but from the looks of her pictures she may be three to four months. Coachella is held two weekends in April; however, the organizers of the show aren’t looking for a new headliner so it seems as if they believe Beyoncé is going to perform while pregnant if everything goes as planned. It’s hard to believe that Beyonce could have topped her sudden pregnancy announcement at the MTV VMA’s in 2011, but she always finds a way to surprise us.
