Migos Freestyle A Childrens Book At Radio Show Interview

The Migos were on fire last year and they clearly tend to keep their title as kings of the southern rap scene because they have made headlines yet again by rapping from a children’s book named “Llama Llama Red Pajama”. The book was written by Anna Dewdney and was released in 2005. Although I have never read the book, Migos’ freestyle tells me that it’s about a Llama in red pajamas that lost his mama. The clip that you can watch below is iconic, hilarious and part of the reason that the group has stayed relevant since years ago when they blew up with Hannah Montana and Fight Night.

Migos (which consists of Offset, Takeoff, and Quavo) have a track record of creating catchy hooks over hard beats that makes girls want to dance and guys want to know all the words. This isn’t the first time that the group has did something out of the box. In 2015 the group gifted fans with an EP called Trap Symphony in which Migos teamed up with Audiomack Live to create orchestral versions of their most popular tracks. Hearing Hannah Montana Handsome and Wealthy and One Time performed with an orchestra backing it was funny and creative so of course the videos went viral in no time.

Some would say last year the group was also credited with popularizing dabbing with their song Look At My Dab. Last year the group also recorded a catchy jingle for their new deal with Rap Snacks. The jingle that trended on Twitter with the hash tag and video #withadabofranch was a promotion for their sour cream and ranch flavored chips with Rap Snacks.

Now the rap group is gearing up to host a culture class at NYU this coming Saturday. The class, which is already full, will discuss their impact on music, fashion, dance and more. The groups upcoming album is named Culture and will be performed in a concert this Friday when it is released according to XXL Magazine. Migos has been referenced as “The Beatles of this generation” by many and have been at the top of the charts with their single Bad and Boujee since Danny Glover shouted them out at the Golden Globes earlier this month. Soulja Boy Charged with Two Felonies After LAPD Raid

Soulja Boy started the year off with a bang, but now he might have to spend the rest of year (and a few more) in a jail cell. On January 23 the rapper was charged with felony weapons possession charges and one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property. Although the “Crank Dat” singer, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, plead not guilty at a hearing on Monday but has to return to court on February 28.

According to Rolling Stone Magazine, LAPD raided his house on December 15th. The rapper, who glamourizes powerful guns and is even naming him new album after one (Draco), was on probation from a previous firearms charge and had been ordered not to possess any weapons. However, law enforcement reportedly found Soulja Boy with a Mini Draco AR-IS assault weapon and a Glock 21 handgun, according to the D.A.'s office. Prosecutors said one of the firearms had been reported stolen from a police vehicle in Huntington Beach, California. 

Now the Turn My Swag On artist is facing felony counts of a possession of an assault weapon, a possession of a firearm in violation of probation, and one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property. Soulja boy seems to be in good spirits since the news broke because he doesn’t appear to be breaking a sweat. He’s tweeting things like “God is great” and “Finishing my new album. Send beats. #Draco”. If the rapper-turned-entrepreneur is really worth the millions he claims he is he may very well get off the hook for these new charges.

Soulja Boy has recently been making headlines for causing internet beef with more relevant celebrities. Late last year it was Quavo from the rap group Migos. Before the first week of the year even ended Soulja Boy started a beef with Chris Brown over model (and most famously Brown’s ex) Karreuche Tran. Soulja Boy claimed that the Loyal singer threatened him about liking Karreuche’s Instagram posts. Although Chris denied ever starting beef with Soulja Boy, the argument did escalate and the two came to an agreement to fight it out in a celebrity charity boxing match. Floyd Mayweather will be on Soulja Boy’s side while Mike Tyson is training Chris Brown. Mike Tyson even made a diss track along with a music video trash talking Soulja Boy. There haven’t been many details released on the boxing match but it is surely gearing up to be the fight of the century.
